Connect an AI agent to Narro

Narro has an MCP server. Connect it to an AI app and you can read and manage your feeds by asking: catch up on what you haven't read, build a feed, add profiles to it, star your favorites.

What an agent can do
  • See your feeds and the profiles in each one.
  • Read the posts in your feeds and in shared feeds you follow. On a feed with a Where I Left Off position, the agent starts with your oldest unread posts.
  • Mark posts as read, which moves your Where I Left Off position. This needs the "Change your feeds" permission.
  • Find profiles in your feeds by name.
  • Create a feed, and rename it or change its emoji and colors.
  • Add profiles to a feed and remove them.
  • Star or unstar a profile within a feed.
  • Search the public Feed Gallery and follow a shared feed.
  • Give you the RSS address for any of your feeds, or for a feed you follow.

Reading with filters, like one platform, a few profiles, starred profiles, or a date range, never marks anything as read, because your Where I Left Off position covers the whole feed.

Agents cannot delete feeds, stop sharing a feed, or change your billing or account settings.

How to connect

Add Narro as a connector or MCP server in your AI app, using this address:

https://mcp.narro.info/mcp

  • Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, choose to add a custom connector, and paste the address.
  • ChatGPT: turn on developer mode in Settings, add a new connector, and paste the address.
  • Claude Desktop: add it as a custom connector in Settings, the same way as in Claude on the web.
  • Cursor:add a remote MCP server in Cursor's MCP settings with the address as its URL.

Menu names change from time to time. Look for the place your app adds a custom connector or remote MCP server. Other MCP clients that support remote servers work the same way.

Signing in and staying in control

The first time your AI app connects, it sends you to narro.info to approve. You see the app's name, the address it will send you back to, and what it is asking to do. Reading your feeds is always part of a connection; changing them is a separate checkbox you can leave off.

Marking posts as read counts as changing your feeds. An app without that permission can read your posts but never moves your Where I Left Off position.

You can disconnect an app any time in Settings, under Connected apps. Disconnecting one app does not sign you out of Narro on the web or your phone.

Two ways to get an account

Free trial: sign up yourself. Create your account at narro.info (web or mobile) to start the 14-day free trial, then connect the MCP server from your AI app.

Let the agent sign you up: pay up front. An AI agent can create an account only by paying up front. These accounts get no free trial. The agent gives you a checkout link, and the account is created once payment goes through. See pricing.

Already have an account? Just connect the server and approve the request. Following a shared feed is free with any account.
